The international community has been looking towards Dubai
for the past several years as it is one of the most famous cities in the world
today for business, education, job opportunities and tourism. This is the
reason why the country has been getting so good a response from the global
investors and some of the biggest companies and organizations have set up their
regional or central head offices in the Dubai City. Some of the top marble
companies in the world have set up their regional offices in Dubai, though
there main centers are in Europe and North America.
Another example is of the International Cricket Council
which had its office in the historical Cricket stadium of Lord’s in the London
City, however, as the focus of Cricket has now turned to Asia and the Asian
countries like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are major revenue generators for
the ICC, they have established their central head-office in Dubai. They could
have set it up in any other part of the world or any country in Asia but Dubai
was preferred because of the excellent conditions and a great commercial
environment in the city and at the same time the tax system of Dubai also suits
the organizations.
For years, the international flights that fly to long
distances have been taking stay-overs at Dubai Airport and getting their tanks
refilled here. This not only shows the confidence of the international
community in the United Arab Emirates but also depicts the great diplomatic
ties that the UAE has been able to establish with most of the world through its
brilliant public relations strategy. The amenities that this city provides to
the investors and expats make it one of the most preferred places for
investment in the region and the outstanding locations and attractions like
Dubai Marina, Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Mall etc. make it an
alluring charm for the tourists as well.
